Richmond is Changing
We live in Richmond in such a significant time. People are coming to Richmond in droves to experience what this great city has to offer. We are known for our artistic culture and laid back mentalities that rival those of Portland, OR or some parts of Brooklyn, NY. No matter what you’re into, there is somewhere to eat, drink, and hang out that matches your vibe. We’re a diverse place and we can all agree that we want to keep it that way. As we grow, there a lot of attention is on the big projects that will change our city significantly. But, what about the projects that can address the issues our city already faces?
Richmond’s biggest development projects will introduce entirely new cultural centers to our region and big about unprecedented economic change. The projects in the Diamond District, City Center, Manchester and Green City are exciting , but how will they adjust the way we live in Richmond? Pines Carver was created with this question in mind and with the goal of addressing it.
Luckily, we are not the first city to face this issue. Richmond has the opportunity to learn from the successes and failures of other majors cities that grew rapidly in the past few decades. By exploring the goals and outcomes of development projects in other cities, Richmond can get all the good, with less bad. We can develop real estate projects that embrace and uplift our existing communities alongside the larger regional developments, instead of letting them disrupt what made us fall in love with living in the River City.
So let’s get engaged and talk about solving some of our communities issues through innovative, creative, and equitable real estate development; that benefit not only the owners of properties, but the the entire community. Let’s envision the future Richmond that we will love to live in - and then lets build it, together.
